Thailand has become a tourist hotspot for honeymooners, backpackers, and fun-seeking youngsters. This beautiful country amazes me with its colorful culture, enchanting beaches, and charismatic nightlife. On my previous visit, I realized that it would be a sin to limit myself to the beautiful beaches of Phuket, which may be alluring. If you really want to experience Thai culture, you need to delve deep into its history, art, and cuisine.
Here are some of Thailand’s top cultural attractions:
Thailand is nothing short of a gastronomic paradise. Here, everyone is crazy about gastronomic tourism. One of Thailand’s fundamental attractions is Thai food, a perfect blend of sweet, salty, sour and bitter. The spices in authentic Thai cuisine irritate the ears, but you can always balance them out with other flavors and aromatic herbs that can also be eaten. My personal favorite is the Khao niao with grilled meat and spicy som tam. increase. Try to memorize a few catchphrases in the local language if you can.
No trip to Thailand is complete without visiting Wat Arun, one of his top tourist attractions in Thailand. Sitting in a secluded corner of Wat Arun in Bangkok, soaking up the early morning sun, I wondered how beautiful the world is and how much there is to love and appreciate. Beautiful temples and saffron clothes. Peace and tranquility were brought to me by the influence of the monks who wore them. With Buddhism being the main religion, there are over 40,000 of her monasteries in Thailand.
Many of them offer meditation centers or spiritual guidance for foreigners. One of the other popular Buddhist temples in Bangkok is Wat Pho or Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
Thailand’s rich heritage is evident in its numerous temples and monasteries, as are the influences of Indian, Burmese, and Chinese cultures. In one of his largest stage productions in the world, Siam Niramit vividly depicts the history of Thailand through song and dance, while the history of Siam traces the history of King Rama I, Rama II, and Rama III. It is the story of the three dynasties of Siamese folklore and also includes many themes and scenes from the Ramayana.
Wat Pho was restored by King Rama I after the colossal Buddha statue was destroyed here during the Burmese invasion. The temple now houses a gold-leafed reclining Buddha statue, so huge that it doesn’t even fit in the space. Wat Arun, or Temple of Dawn, is an impressive structure that towers majestically over the Chao Phraya River. The famous Emerald Buddha was first housed here before being moved to the impressive Royal Palace, the seat of power of the King of Siam until 1925.
One of the things to do in Thailand is explore the beautiful culture that Thailand has to offer. Thailand’s urban culture includes a modern, fast-paced, and chaotic city life intertwined with the traditions of the past. Bangkok is a stunning modern city steeped in Siamese history. The city’s glorious past can be seen in its glittering temples and opulent palaces, while its modernity is found in its colorful nightlife and world-class infrastructure. There’s also the beauty that emerges from chaos when you look at places like the Klong (canal) floating markets that once gave Bangkok the ‘Venice of the East’ nickname. The waterways are filled with long-tail boat vendors, ride tourists, and regular shoppers.
But Thailand has much more to offer than Bangkok. Chiang Mai is a culturally significant city in northern Thailand, surrounded by ancient crumbling walls and Old World-style moats. The city sits on the scenic Ping River and is home to the highest mountain in the country. Rich culture combined with scenic beauty and colorful festivals makes Thailand a must-see on any tour.
Thailand’s rural culture is best experienced by spending time with the Far North hill tribes. I observed people living quietly in picturesque villages. The people there are neither anxious nor dissatisfied with the presence of tourists. But they like a little company. Kanchanaburi is recommended if you don’t want to live in a village. This quaint little town is surrounded by lush, breezy sugarcane fields and rolling limestone hills. The hill has some interesting deep winding stalactite caves and underground temples. This laid-back city is the perfect getaway for adventure seekers and those who just want to relax in the lap of nature.
